About Northen White Cedar

All our furnishings are made of Northern White Cedar (Thuja occidentalis), a species known for its beauty and durability. Left outside in its natural state, it will mature to a splendid silver gray. You can also stain Northern White Cedar in the color of your choice to match your decor. Whether natural or stained, Northern White Cedar will add a natural touch to your environment for years to come.

Benefits of Northern White Cedar

Naturally resistant to rot and insects for superior durability.
Requires no chemical preservatives, making it a safe and natural alternative to treated wood.
Robust structure that does not warp or sag over time, as with plastic or resin furniture.
Extremely smooth and splinter-free surface for optimal comfort.
Cream and vanilla-colored in its natural state, it can be left that way or stained to match your decor.
Ideal inside and out.
Smells great.

About Cheeking

All log furniture is subject to a natural process called "checking". As wood releases moisture, checking can occur across or through its annual growth rings. This normal result of wood seasoning occurs only on the surface of the wood, and does not affect the wood’s structural performance or integrity. In fact, we believe these characteristics only add to the natural beauty of your furniture. Checking can range from very slight slivers to cracks running the full length of the log to the heart of the wood. Checking is completely normal and in no way affects the integrity of the wood or the strength of the furniture.
